Prioritizing - How do you get it all done?

Prioritizing is one of the hardest things to do for me.  My life consists of a my God given ministries, home life, my wife, full time job, a part-time business, as well as the church that I attend AND serve. Not to mention spending time relaxing, having fun, or with friends and family. My situation is very unique and I know that not many people are as “busy” as I am.At the same time, I know that all of us are very multi faceted.  On some level, I believe all of us have a challenge balancing it all and that challenge is just as hard for all of us even though some can handle more than others. For me I try to spend my time across the following categories and prioritize in the following order:1. God2. Family3. Job4. (Local) ChurchThe struggle for me often is learning to simultaneously prioritize my actions and decisions based on this hierarchy, but at the same time make sure that I am spending sufficient time IN each category.

The Price of Ministry - Part 1

A common question among Christians and especially musicians is, “How much will you charge me to…?”.  This is a question that has brought me to pray, study and meditate to discover the best way to answer this question.

Ministry is priceless and that is found in the Word of God.For me, it is likened to the ministry of marriage found in Eph 5.  We love God, who instructs us to love each other, including, but not limited to our Friends, our blood relatives, our neighbors (those found near us at any given time) and last but not least those associated closest to us on Earth we call co-workers.  I have learned to distinguish my relationships, yet not separate my life into several pieces.

God’s wisdom allows us to step back and look at the entire picture. Even if only for a moment, the result is life-changing. The result is what we call salvation in Romans chapter 10.Amazingly, enough is never enough to fully appreciate what God has done for us. However, as a man, God gives us wives to help us begin to NOTE (or pay attention) to what he is doing. I believe HE does this through HIS LOVE, the example Jesus CHRIST made on the CROSS, the help of the Holy Spirit and just so we don’t get things all twisted up, we find an example of this in Genesis chapter 3.

Even after the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts. We still must stand up for HIM and do the Work that HE told US to do from the beginning. We must do God’s work, not grudgingly, not of necessity, but with cheerfully 2 Cor 9:7. Yes, I am referencing one of those “offering scriptures.”  Why? Because we first must consider that our ministry is firstly our reasonable service unto God. Rom 12:1-2… but really How much should we charge?
